Program opportunity with former counselor in NYC area
Former counselor Angelica Conway has been working for years to show how similar we all are. Before she even became a counselor at Camp PALS, Angelica was studying education at NYU and also coached a Challenger League baseball team. She had a wonderful experience at Camp PALS with her camper, Eileen, and has continued to stay in touch with us.
These days Angelica is bringing the experience of theater to everyone. She helped found Daytime Moon Creations in the New York City area, giving individuals with intellectual disabilities a new outlet for creative expression. Daytime is currently accepting participants for its newest program, “Stars of the Stage,” a 10-week program that will culminate with the performance of an original musical. It sounds incredible and, knowing Angelica, it will be a total blast!
If you’re interested in hearing more about what Angelica is doing or getting involved as a participant or volunteer, check out Daytime Moon’s website.
Reunion in NYC
An exciting weekend in New York City, as the Camp PALS board and directors met to discuss programming for 2012 and beyond and we had a delicious reunion brunch at Philip Marie. It was great to see Catherine Reischman, Jake Klouser, Megan Cloyes, Tyler Waeltz and Kate Danish, along with their families. We hope we’ll see more of you at reunions in 2012!
